So, Mac’s back. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him put anything out and the last thing I personally remember seeing him in was his Entourage style TV show; “Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family,” (which is serious jokes by the way – I’m probably going to get in trouble for uploading this short clip from the episode where the team travelled to Ireland but I’ll take it down straight away if someone has an objection to sharing this hilarious moment.)
After this short music hiatus, VYNLY favourite Mac has finally released “Just Some Raps, Nothing To See Here, Move Along,” a title that shows that even though he’s matured as an artist, he still maintains his jester like ways. Trading in footwear lyrics for drunken rambles, it’s obvious he isn’t playing around this time cause with this just being free taster, he’s clearly stamping his authority if the best is yet to come.
Having been releasing music independently since his time at Rostrum Records came to an end (self-released Faces is fire) Mac Miller dropped some new music after announcing his fresh deal with Warner Bros, reportedly worth $10 million dollars. Bang.
Talking to The Fader, Mac Miller had this to say about his new deal.
“Warner is the most independent thinking company I met with. It is a partnership and now I can focus on building my label Remember through music and let them handle everything I don’t like doing. Nothing will change in how I do things.”
Whether or not this means a new album is coming out soon has yet to be discussed, but with the deal now confirmed, it’s safe to say that there will be a project in the works. In the meantime, Mac fans will have to feed off free samples like this.
